Ben is a delivery-focused Chartered Engineer and senior leader with more than 25 years of operational, project, and programme management experience across both the public and private sectors. Ben is passionate about sustainable development, climate change, resilience, and with a focus on social and environmental purpose. He has led teams on infrastructure and asset management projects, specialising in flood and coastal risk management (FCRM), maritime, appraisal & business case economics, and local authority disciplines. Ben’s expertise includes a detailed knowledge of funding mechanisms and government processes to support FCRM schemes through business case development and scheme appraisal. Ben has a broad knowledge of UK’s Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs partnership funding and application processes and is currently appointed by the Environment Agency as an independent member of the Wessex Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, holding the coastal specialisms portfolio.
