The American Society of Civil Engineers, Seattle Section, recently selected the Meydenbauer Bay Park project in Bellevue, Washington, as the recipient of the Local Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (LOCEA) Award in the Water Resources category! The LOCEA Awards recognize projects that have contributed to the economic development of the local community and demonstrate innovation and excellence in design, environmental sustainability, cost effectiveness, and aesthetics. We are honored to have been a part of the multidisciplinary team for this project with Anchor QEA!
Moffatt & Nichol assisted with planning and cost estimating for the upland civil and waterfront improvements to the park, as well as identifying and defining the guiding environmental and regulatory plans, codes, and regulations for the shoreline and in-water elements, including the marina. We also prepared the final design of the in-water improvements and upland structures, including retaining walls, foundation for new beach house building, and pedestrian overlook structures for the waterfront park. The in-water work included an iconic 420-foot-long curved pier that provides public access for visitors to experience the waterfront.
