Jared is a senior water resources engineer and project manager with a passion for helping communities understand their flood risks and improve their resilience. He specializes in flood mitigation, stormwater management, compound flooding and resilient infrastructure projects. Along with his engineering background, Jared brings a planning perspective to his work and looks for projects to not only provide functional benefits but to also improve the quality of life for the affected communities. Jared understands the challenges of a changing environment and applies his 17-plus years of experience to help identify solutions and strategies that will make both natural and built systems more resilient. Jared graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of South Carolina in 2006. He has a wealth of experience with urban and municipal stormwater modeling, including 1D/2D HECRAS- and SWMM-based modeling. Jared is a self-taught photographer, and focuses on documentary and environmental photography. He has been documenting the impacts of flooding and sea level rise in Charleston since 2015.
