NYC Ferry spans 60 nautical miles and connects communities in Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens through an affordable mode of transport.
In 2015, the New York City Economic Development Corporation updated the city’s plans to enhance and expand the East River ferry service into the six routes connecting 21 ferry pier destinations referred to today as NYC Ferry. Moffatt & Nichol evaluated over 50 potential ferry landing sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Our team addressed operational, navigational, and environmental concerns and developed capital cost estimates for constructing the landings. We also prepared a policy discussion of vessel wake issues, identified mitigation strategies, and provided conceptual design and capital cost estimates for constructing the ferry landings.
