The St. James Plant is a world-scale styrene facility and also one of the largest consumers of hydrocarbon feedstocks on the Lower Mississippi River.
Americas Strenics (AmSty) selected Moffatt & Nichol to provide site layout options, structural analysis and design, mechanical equipment design, and electrical and instrumentation design for the new deep-draft dock in St James Parish, LA. The project included a loading platform, mooring and berthing dolphins, access trestle, pipe supports, fleeting dolphins, and appurtenances. Moffatt & Nichol also provided general piping layouts, sections, and elevations to a level necessary to generate material takeoffs as well as lighting design, navigational lighting, load analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
