Moffatt & Nichol provided the Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability with the planning and design for developing and implementing shoreline erosion protection and enhancement improvements at Cox's Point Park.
Moffatt & Nichol prepared concept plans, performed final design, and prepared bid documents. The project included breakwaters, beachfill, living shoreline, and timber fishing pier designs that are consistent with the character and use of the park. Included in the project were hydrographic and topographic surveys, geotechnical investigations, literature review, coastal data collection and modeling of coastal processes, coastal engineering design, structural engineering design, and stormwater management and permitting. After the design was completed, Moffatt & Nichol provide technical consulting engineering services for construction support.
