In order to maintain this valuable landmark, the city selected Moffatt & Nichol to conduct the 2008 Pier Infrastructure Assessment Study, as well as provide an updated assessment in 2019. The update includes inspection and assessment of the entire pier which consists of more than 2,000 piles and over 70,000 square feet of deck. We are also providing design services to upgrade the Pier West-End and Pier Areas 2 and 10. As part of the upgrade effort, the firm is developing design alternatives, preparing construction documents, and providing construction support.
