French Valley Parkway Interchange

The project reduces congestion and improves safety by relieving the I-15/Winchester Road interchange and minimizing weaving movements on I-15 between Winchester Road and the I-15/I-215 Junction.

Moffatt & Nichol completed a corridor study along I-15 and I-215, extending from the Rancho California Road interchange on I-15 to the Murrieta Hot Springs Road interchanges on I-15 and I-215, approximately 4 miles north. Moffatt & Nichol also prepared bridge Advance Planning Studies for 10 bridges, including the widening of existing slab bridges and associated seismic retrofits, the construction of new slab bridges, and the construction of new cast-in-place prestressed box girder bridges. We prepared a structure planning study for a tie-back retaining wall under Winchester Road to provide room to widen I-15 below. Moffatt & Nichol worked closely with Caltrans, the Federal Highway Administration, the City of Temecula, and the City of Murrieta to complete the study and the required documents. Project has been divided into phases, Moffatt & Nichol was responsible for the preparation of the overall PA/ED documents, and design of Phase 1 which included the southbound offramp to the future French Valley Parkway interchange and the widening of the southbound offramp to Winchester Road over Santa Gertrudis Creek.
