Highway improvements focus on benefits for commuters and freight alike.
The planned project for four miles of NC 275-279 will improve the intersection of NC 275 and NC 279 and widen the facility to a multilane roadway to improve travel for commuters and businesses moving freight. The improvements are part of an overall plan developed by local officials to positively impact the economic outlook of local communities and to attract new business interests to the area. The proposed project is part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, State Transportation Improvement Program. In addition to developing the preliminary project design and NEPA documents, Moffatt & Nichol is conducting the planning process that looks at existing environmental conditions, indirect changes in the pattern of land use change, population density and growth, and change in transportation facility capacity an access.
